Jonathan was born in New London,
Connecticut and moved to North Carolina when he was two years old. He grew up in
a great little town called Kernersville (we think it's on the map now). Still
not sure why he don't sound like a good 'ol boy from the South, but he sure does
love sweet tea and country fried steak with gravy.
He attended the North Carolina
School of the Arts and received a B.F.A. in Acting. This conservatory arts training
school consistently ranks among the top in the nation. Upon graduation he moved
to NYC where he lived for about three years. There he began Incite
Productions, along with other fellow NCSA alumni, an Off-Off Broadway theatre
company, which received critical acclaim for its powerful and touching
work by the New York Times. Jonathan then moved to Wilmington, NC for two
years and beefed up his resume in film, TV, commercials, and theatre as well,
co-founding Renaissance Theatre Company with another fellow NCSA alumnus,
Dennis Delaney.
Jonathan loaded
up his pick-up and headed out west with the pooch...aah, what a great drive. Jonathan found his wife,
photographer Jen Lepkowski, www.jenlepkowskiphotography.com,
in Los Angeles, California and they lived there for four years, with Chloe the monster-mutt and Rascal the,
well, rascal (cat). They are avid wilderness backpackers and have hiked some of
the hardest trails in the U.S. and Europe. Jonathan also enjoys climbing, mountain biking, kayaking, and skeet shooting.
Jonathan and Jen are now thrilled to call Asheville, NC home with two more additions to the family- Alley Cat (a rescued kitty) and Pepper (an Australian Shepherd). Jonathan continues to produce, direct, and act and is a Major Gifts Officer at UNC Asheville. He's livin' the dream.
